How do the seasons affect the trees?

We took a nature walk this week to see what the trees look like during the summer in Georgia. Here is a picture of our class in front of the trees. Notice how the leaves are green.
 I wonder how they will look next month when we go back to see them in the Fall.

Seasonal Changes

We are now studying seasonal changes in science. The students will learn about how the changes in the seasons affect our lives, plants, and animals.
We began the season of Fall today, which includes the months of September, October, and November. Holidays during the season of Fall are, Columbus Day, Halloween, Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving.
If you have any pictures, magazines, or newspapers you would like to donate for our students to utilize for projects, please send them with your child.

Place Value

We have been working on Place Value in Math. I found a great activity for the students to practice their skills on identifying the place and value of the digits. We are working on identifying the place value to the thousands place. Your child may need some assistance on larger numbers.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

There are letters coming home today with a date and time for a conference. Please make sure that this time is convenient for you and return the slip signed. If it is not a good time for you, please write 2 alternate dates and times on the slip and return.

Constitution Day Celebration

Our Constitution Day Celebration will ake place Friday, September 16. We hope that you will join us for the program in the gym. Please allow your child to wear their white or blue uniform shirt with uniform bottoms.
